The Mac community. Many Mac developers and users have long felt neglected by Apple after the company's main focus shifted to the iPhone and iPad, particularly when it came to apps. Native Mac apps built with Mac Catalyst can share code with your iPad apps, and you can add more features just for Mac. In macOS Big Sur, you can create even more powerful versions of your apps and take advantage of every pixel on the screen by running them at native Mac resolution. The ability to download apps onto your PC is also great for those who still have a first generation iPad. While many apps no longer support the original iPad, if you download an app on your PC or Mac, the app shows up in the previously purchased category of the App Store on your iPad.

Still not sure you need an Apple app?

Mobile commerce is on the rise, making up more than $58 billion in 2014.

And remember that a huge chunk of that came from iPhone users—over 79 million people in the United States.

Obviously, having an Apple app won’t mean that you’ll be automatically in the pockets and minds of millions of users, but it does give you the opportunity to stay connected with and keep tabs on your customers and potential customers in your local community who have iPhones.

You can tell those customers about upcoming sales through push notifications, engage them through social media, or simply remind them that they can shop not only at your store in town, but they can shop directly through their phones at home or wherever they may be. Now that sounds like a pretty good reason to have an Apple app.

CREATE MY APP

I have game apps on my iPhone that I want to play on my iMac. How's this done?

Apple

You just go to the App Store and download the game then play it

You can't.

The iTunes App Store and the Mac App Store are two different things. Your iPhone uses the iOS operating system and your iMac uses the Mac OS X operating system. Apps for one operating system will (usually) not work in a different operating system.

It would be like trying to run a Windows. EXE file on your Mac. That wouldn't work either.

  • Why won't songs play good on my iPhone 5 but play normal on iTunes? When I download music and import it to iTunes, They play fine and normal but as soon as i put them on my iPhone they sound scratchy or like if they were getting fast forwarded. I don't think it's my iPhone because I've put songs in it before but this just started happening today. What's the problem, How do i fix this?
  • Why won't my iPhone sync to my iMac? I'm trying to sync my iPhone 4 to my iMac using iTunes but every time I plug it in and click sync a pop-up window says 'The iPhone could not be synced because the sync session failed to start.' I made sure the cable was plugged in right and everything looked normal, in the settings, summary, etc. But it still won't sync. It's not syncing wirelessly anymore either. If anyone knows the solution to this, that would be great.
